We had considered having somewhat of a SEO contest with rules for White Hat SEO projects that have followed guidelines as provided by Google as kind of just a fun side project. We would not be interested in doing this for our customer accounts but just our own side projects. Of course we could make this contest only visible to particpants. We were just wanting to know if anyone would be interested in participating. If you think you would have an interest in participating in something like this, please respond to this post.

I recently purchased a domain name for my own personal use that I am going to run as a little hobby - once the site is up and running I will be aiming to see how quickly I can get it onto the front page.

Its in quite a competitive industry - holidays / vacations - so should be interesting!

Ok, here we go.

Over the Christmas break I set out on my personal project. It can be found over at Holidays in Lanzarote.

Phase One of the project is complete.

I have just started a link building programme by contacting owners of other Lanzarote based web sites and submitting to article directories and web directories.

I also aim to update the web site at least 3 times, if not 4 times a week to keep it fresh.

Sitemaps have been created and submitted to the search engines that allow you to upload XML maps.

I have a couple of blogs that I will be posting to and also will make use of the Free Traffic System tool that is excellent!

There is another motive to this project aside from any sort of SEO contest - wish me luck!

I'd also welcome any comments on the site.
