Is there an "official" SEO Process? 9 Months, 1 Week ago

I joined SEO Moz hoping to there would be some sort of a flow chart or step by step process for SEO. It seems that there is an abundance of info that is thrown out there with no organization to it.
My question- Where can I find an SEP Process map or something that will give you some sort of directions?

It is a good question and one that I don't think anyone will have a specific answer for. Every SEO professional that I have met, or SEO company that I have had the privelage of knowing seems to have their own proprietary way for accomplishing results for their clients.
In our case we approach every client and customer website differently. We really try to embed ourselves into the project and figure out what would attract their customers, clients or guests into visiting their site and staying there. Our approach is more old school in nature and we do not utilize a bunch of the newer techniques to SEO.
If you are looking to learn the approach of an SEO, I would encourage you to check out the local SEO meetup in Denver as there is a portfolio of talented SEOs that attend this meeting every month. After you have attended for awhile it is likely that many of them will share their approach with you as well.

I have to agree with Cade.
There is no 'official' SEO process but we try to optimise "on-site" first and then concentrate on off-site activities after that. Personally I dont see the point in link building activities if your site isnt optimised in the first place.
You could speak to 10 different SEO's and get 10 different answers!
