Appstate, good luck with getting into SEO. I hope that you will find some useful information here and on our blog located at the link
Denver SEO. I am certain that your clients know that the yellow pages and print advertisements are a thing of the past and that is definitely a great place to prospect for new clients!
Anyway, you had asked if there were any good books on search engine optimization and the answer is yes. There are many good books that will help with the basic principles of SEO. Perhaps one of my favorites is "Search Engine Optimization Bible" the 2nd edition by Jerri L Ledford. The most useful information that we have found on search engine optimization is actually online. It is the most up to date and usually many of the SEO experts give out fantastic information. I would make certain to follow
Matt Cutts of Google as he comes out with videos frequently on the latest from the Google Search Quality Group.
You had asked if you should invest in SEO tools since you already have clients that want and need your services. I am not sure that you understand what we mean by SEO tools. You would definitely want to utilize a myriad of SEO tools to help you with your client projects. There are many that you can utilize in our
Free SEO tools section. These tools will not help you get clients but rather help you optimize client projects.
In regards to utilizing PPC or going with search engine optimization on a new website. That depends. For us, we never recommend that our customers go with PPC or CPC. It takes awhile for us to drive traffic to their site, but we wind up saving them money in the long run. I know that there are some Denver Internet Marketing firms that would disagree with me and so it really comes down to your opinion on the matter. In our case, every PPC campaign I have seen usually has a much higher bounce rate than any organic campaign.
I hope I have answered a couple questions for you here. Please let me know if we can answer any further questions.
