Alot of it can depend greatly on the site that you are getting the links from.

A very active site will usually get indexed quicker by the search engines so your back link(s) will take effect more quickly. This is the same for the 5 different types of site you mention.

The one thing to watch out for on all sites, but particually Forums and Blogs is that they don't use the NOFOLLOW tag as this will render your backlinks useless as far as the search engines go.

Of course, submission of a live link to any site with a large user base is always a useful way of getting real visitors to come to your site. It's important to remember that SEO isnt just about the search engines, its about getting real people to come to your site.

for me, social bookmarking works faster, but yields minimal results. But if you're gonna take a good look, if you have 50 bookmarks per keyword, that would still amount to a ton of backlinks, and they are independently syndicated.
