This is probably one of the most important factors in search engine optimization that does not considered. We have well over 5,000 visitors to our sites every month, and I don't think our conversion rate is high enough. I went through your discussion board here to see if there is any talk about how to increase conversion rates and I just don't see anything. Do you think that it would be worthwhile to open a new category or section for "Conversion"?

Hi,
You are right - it is a very important part of SEO, because without it there is no ROI. For SEO's who manage clients sites conversion rates can be quite hard to track and we highlight the importance of record keeping with the client.
You can setup Google to monitor eCommerce transactions which is OK, but the only true method of measuring conversions in my opinion is hard core sales.
To help increase conversions consider the following:
- Contact Forms on every page
- Telephone Number on every page
- Links to core products / services on every page
- Clear call to actions on key pages (i.e. Buy now, Register etc)
- SEO specific pages for specific products so site users dont need to click through your navigation to find them.
- Introduce a search facility on your own site
- Promotional banners (with click-throughs) on key pages
I'm sure there are more, its early morning here so the brian isnt quite engaged yet.
I'd be interested to know how you are driving conversions at the present?
Cheers
Ian
