Reciprocal Link Building 10 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 1
I just want to know what your thoughts are on reciprocal link building. I have found that it is a great waste of time, I don't know that I have gotten any results from this. When I look at my backlinks through Google I am not seeing any of the reciprocal links that I worked so hard to build. So what are your thoughts on this?

I am in the same boat as you. I don't believe that building reciprocal links is as valuable as obtaining one way links from relevant sources. I am certain that building reciprocal links is valuable, but I question how much time I should invest in obtaining them. I am most interested in developing quality content (through all different types of media) and attracting the search engines this way.

With reciprocal link strategies not only do you have to build a relationship on the other side of the fence, but you also need to check and make certain that your link remains. I think it is just better to build one way links and move on.

I completely agree with you guys! Reciprocal links are a big waste of time! There are much more efficient methods of getting links, as Cade has detailed in his post.

Wouldn't it be best to reciprocate links from different pages?

In other words, wouldn't it be ok to exchange links from Site A to Site B if they link to other pages than the links are from?
